Celebrating the First "Be Embraced Day"
Sometimes, we become so focused on chasing "big" milestones that we forget life truly happens in the small, quiet moments. The very first Be Embraced Day served as a beautiful reminder of this truth, proving that a single afternoon of intentional connection can shift someone's entire energy.
From Contributing to Receiving
Franslie Bezerra first discovered the Be Embraced Foundation a year ago during a season of significant change. Though she initially hoped to participate, a drastic shift in her health kept her away for months. When she finally reconnected, her instinct was to offer her own help to the foundation.
"But being the person I am, I only thought about the perspective of contributing; I hadn't imagined that I would be the one receiving help. Wow, I needed it so much and I didn't even know it." — Franslie Bezerra
Birgit reflects that Franslie even viewed the visit as a "test run" to help the team refine the process, only realizing afterward how much she personally benefitted from the experience.
The Heart of the Visit
To ensure the afternoon was fully focused on Franslie’s needs, the team coordinated closely beforehand to handle details regarding everything from allergies to personal boundaries. Three members of the Be Embraced community were received with open arms, bringing with them snacks and a creative vision board activity.
The afternoon followed a gentle, restorative rhythm:
Sharing Stories: Over snacks, Franslie shared her journey—a story Birgit describes as truly heartbreaking.
Grounding: The group practiced a breathing exercise together to center their spirits.
Setting Intentions: They created a shared intention to move forward into a positive space.
Vision Boards: The women spent time sharing ideas, dreams, and hopes through a hands-on activity.
A Synergy of Joy

Perhaps the most beautiful part of Be Embraced Day is that the impact flows both ways. While the team arrived to support Franslie, Birgit found that the afternoon provided her with a rare and necessary pause.
"It was just as good for me as I am always organizing and thinking of stuff for others," Birgit shared, noting that she couldn't remember the last time she took the time to create a vision board for herself. "I had so much fun."
The Power of Simple Moments
For Franslie, the afternoon was more than just a visit; it was a transformative experience that reminded her of the importance of the "little things" in life. It provided a much-needed smile in the middle of a difficult week and offered the certainty that simple moments can positively impact the lives of others.
As we look forward to future Be Embraced Days, we carry Franslie’s words with us: "We are always looking for big things and forget how the small things are what make life happen."
